We’re a Global Brand Design Agency, we work with multinational CPG’s all over the world to create brand value that drives growth. Our clients include some of the biggest names in the business – Pepsi-Co, Mars Wrigley, Bayer Consumer Healthcare and Hasbro, to name a few. We also work with smaller challenger brands, creating and reinventing them for long term success. Headquartered in Fitzrovia, central London, we have ambitions to open a new studio in Chicago for our US client base.

You

You will have between 3 to 5 years’ experience working as a designer within a brand design agency. You are keen to take the next exciting step on your career ladder ready to broaden your experience, build your knowledge and skill set. You will play an integral part within the creative team – driven, eager to learn and able to produce exceptional design solutions – excited by brand and keen to explore the world they live in. You are organised with an inquisitive mind and great at building relationships at every level.

Your skills
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience within a brand design agency
  • Able to produce exceptional design solutions in response to a brief
  • Able to optimise all creative work for use throughout the brand eco-system
  • An understanding of production processes, and how they impact design solutions
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • A confident, well prepared, and clear presenter 
  • An enthusiastic team player
  • An excellent eye for detail 
  • Problem solver and creative thinker
  • A good understanding of IT issues as they relate to the creative process
The role

Based out of our Central London Studio, reporting to our Design Director, you will be instrumental in delivering creative solutions across some of the best-known FMCG brands.  Current projects include brand positioning, architecture, innovation, creation, renovation (identity & packaging re-design), sub-brand range extensions, activation (social content & in-store), guidelines/playbooks, internal branding & communication, plus animation & video.

Areas of responsibility
  • Create and execute ideas with great attention to detail
  • Support, and be supported by, the team in responding to briefs and delivering brilliant work
  • Support, and be active in, research groups, debriefs, presentations and client workshops
  • Proactively build experience across typography/illustration/photography/materials & finishes to elevate design concepts beyond the expected
  • Always staying current, suggesting new ways of working and tools to improve the studio workflow
  • Encourage and help junior designers and placements wherever possible/appropriate
  • Provide support and back-up to the design team as required
  • Always be able to express a point of view on your creative work and the work of others
  • Assisting with creating great presentations for our clients
  • Champion and encourage inspirational and social opportunities within Straight Forward or at external exhibitions/creative experiences
  • Develop an understanding of the needs of the agency and your role in its success
  • Ensure that your projects/ stages of projects follow Straight Forward’s procedures on filing, archiving, back-up and purchasing, and to champion these procedures
  • Be responsible for the efficient management of the design budget for all your projects at all stages including artwork and production
  • Gain a good knowledge and understanding of Connect in Full – Found, Understood, Loved, Lived – as a way of commutating and thinking
  • Key contributor to the welfare, health, and atmosphere of the agency as a whole
