Why we have a website use policy

We’re proud of our business, our clients and other businesses we engage with, so we use our site to share information about them. This policy sets out the terms which apply when you browse, link to or from, or otherwise interact with our site in any way.

When you use our site then we’ll treat that as confirmation that you’re happy to accept this policy and to comply with its terms. Of course, if for any reason you don’t agree to these terms, then please don’t use our site.

Obvious things that we don’t allow on our website

We’re a principled business, and do our best to look after our clients, our team and everyone we engage with. So there are some obvious but important things that we don’t allow on our site.

No one is allowed:

  • To use our site for unlawful purposes or to breach any applicable laws.
  • To knowingly transmit any materials or data that is unlawful or contains viruses, malware or any other harmful computer code.
  • To reproduce, copy, re-sell or commercially use any part of our site without our permission (we’re flattered if you’d like to, but you’ll need to contact us and get our approval first).
  • To access, damage or disrupt any part of our site or the software or equipment it runs on.

What we do if anyone’s breached this policy

We’d like to think that all visitors to our site will respect the simple rules above. That said, if we find out there’s been a breach of this policy then we’ll treat that seriously and take any action that we feel is appropriate or as required by law. We don’t know in advance what this action will be, but it could involve:

  • Stopping you using our site.
  • Issuing a warning to you.
  • Starting legal proceedings against you.
  • Providing information about you and your actions to the police or other law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary or as required by law.

We exclude our liability for all action we may take in response to breaches of this policy, so far as the law allows us to.

The content of our site isn’t advice

The information on our site is provided because we think our visitors may be interested in it, but it’s not intended to be advice for you to rely on. We do try to keep the information on our site up to date and accurate but we can’t guarantee that it always will be.

Sites and resources we link to

You’ll see that our site includes links to other sites and online resources such as Instagram, Google Maps and to local companies which we think our site visitors may be interested in knowing about. These links are provided only for your information and we don’t have any control over the contents of those sites or resources and so we can’t accept responsibility for them in any way.

We’re serious about privacy as well as design

If you provide us any information relating to you through our site or otherwise then we’ll protect that information in accordance with the strict standards set out in our Data Use Policy and under applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR: https://straightforward.design/data-use-policy/

We’re always active and adapting, and so is this policy

The world doesn’t stand still, so we amend this policy from time to time. We’d appreciate it if you’d check these terms when you use our site, to make sure that you’re comfortable with any changes we may have made.

The laws applying to this policy

We’re an English company and the terms of this policy, its subject matter and its formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. Both we and you agree that if we end up in a dispute relating to this policy or your use of our site then the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle it.

Thanks for reading this policy and we hope you enjoy our site!
