Children with Cancer

“We are the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer.”

£552.50 donated

childrenwithcancer.org.uk

Their mission:

Children with Cancer is a UK charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer with a vision to create a world where every child survives cancer. Their mission is to improve survival rates across all types of childhood cancer by finding kinder, safer treatments and ultimately a cure. They also support children and their families to live better during and after treatment.

How they help:

The charity raises and invests money to fund research projects to understand what causes children to get cancer and to develop improved treatments. They help families deal with the burden of a cancer diagnosis by working with other organisations to fund free accommodation close to hospitals and financial grant programmes to support families during their cancer journey. They also organise special days out, giving families a welcome respite from hospitals and treatment. We bring childhood cancer to the forefront by sharing children and their families’ experiences in the hope this will reduce delays in diagnosis, raise awareness of life-limiting side effects of current treatments and encourage greater funding of childhood cancer research.

The Straight Forward Forest

“Simple and impactful climate action.”

£7,110.40 donated

ecologi.com

Their mission:

The climate crisis we currently face is the greatest threat we have ever known. Dangerous climate ‘tipping points’ have already been reached and there isn’t a place on Earth that won’t be affected.

One of the most effective ways to tackle this climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial in preventing ecological collapse.

How they help:

Our Million Tree Pledge is a progressive initiative to conserve, restore or grow one million trees worldwide by 2030.

We are privileged to be supported by Ecologi to help turn our Million Tree Pledge into reality by ensuring the right trees are planted in the right places, have been verified for the maximum positive impact, long-term survival and to protect and enhance the natural biodiversity.

We are also part of the “Million Tree Pledge” a community of like-minded organisations who have also pledged to plant one million trees.

The other part of our promise is to find at least two other people or businesses to get involved and pledge to plant one million trees too!
