Blue Marine Foundation
“Aims to restore the ocean to health by addressing overfishing, one of the world’s biggest environmental problems.”
£633.61 donated

Their vision is a healthy ocean forever, for everyone. They are dedicated to creating marine reserves, restoring vital habitats and establishing models of sustainable fishing.
Blue Marine’s mission is to see at least 30% of the world’s ocean under effective protection by 2030 and the other 70% managed in a responsible way.
Blue Marine Foundation is a charity dedicated to restoring the ocean to health by addressing overfishing, one of the world’s biggest environmental problems. The ocean is the world’s largest carbon sink: by combatting overfishing, we can help life in the ocean perform its vital function of stabilising the Earth’s climate.
How they help:
Blue Marine works using a combination of top-down intervention to improve governance of our seas and bottom-up project delivery to help local communities who are at the front line of ocean conservation.
Their key interventions are:
- Securing marine protected areas to ensure the protection of at least 30% of the ocean by 2030.
- Developing models of sustainable fishing proving that low-impact fishing benefits marine life, local fishers and communities.
- Restoring marine habitats to revive and protect vulnerable and threatened species and to sequester carbon.
- Tackling unsustainable fishing by highlighting poor practice and developing solutions.
Create
“A multi-award-winning charity empowering lives, reducing isolation and enhancing well-being through the creative arts.”
£633.61 donated
Their mission:
To use the creative arts to connect, empower, inspire and upskill society’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable people, raising aspirations, building selfesteem, reducing isolation and enhancing wellbeing.
How they help:
At Create their focus is on engaging the UK’s most marginalised participants in inspiring, sustainable arts programmes in areas where provision is poor and engagement in the arts is therefore low.
To ensure they reach the most disadvantaged and vulnerable participants in areas of greatest need, they prioritise partner organisations that receive little or no provision from other arts providers.
They select these using poverty indices and government statistics on areas of deprivation alongside data including: disability; pupil premium/entitlement to free school meals; and use of English as an additional language.
Macmillan Cancer Support
“Macmillan Cancer Support help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.”
£633.31 donated

Being told ‘you have cancer’ can affect so much more than your health – it can also affect your family, your job, even your ability to pay the bills. But you’re still you. They get that. And, after over 100 years of helping people through cancer, they get what’s most important: that you’re treated as a person, not just a patient.
At Macmillan, they won’t rest, and won’t settle for giving anything other than the best possible support for people with cancer.
How they help:
They give people with cancer everything they’ve got. They offer emotional, physical and financial support from the moment of diagnosis. Whether it’s help paying bills, advice on benefits or treatment, or just to chat.
The Straight Forward Forest
“Simple and impactful climate action.”
£15,660.00 donated
Their mission:
The climate crisis we currently face is the greatest threat we have ever known. Dangerous climate ‘tipping points’ have already been reached and there isn’t a place on Earth that won’t be affected.
One of the most effective ways to tackle this climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial in preventing ecological collapse.
How they help:
Our Million Tree Pledge is a progressive initiative to conserve, restore or grow one million trees worldwide by 2030.
We are committed to ensuring the right trees are being planted in the right places, have been verified for the maximum positive impact, long-term survival and to protect and enhance the natural biodiversity.
We are also part of the “Million Tree Pledge” a community of like-minded organisations who have also pledged to plant one million trees.
The other part of our promise is to find at least two other people or businesses to get involved and pledge to plant one million trees too!
